Vegetation dynamics of coal mining city in an arid desert region of Northwest China from 2000 to 2019

Coal mining has led to serious ecological damages in arid desert region of Northwest China. However, effects climatic factor and activity on vegetation dynamics plant diversity this remain unknown. Wuhai City located the China is an industrial city dominated by coal mining. Based Landsat data field investigation City, we analyzed relationships with climate factors, restoration projects from 2000 2019. Results showed that mostly consisted plants, such as Caragana microphylla, Tetraena mongolica Achnatherum splendens. And fractional coverage (VFC) greenness rate change (GRC) was slightly improved during study period. Normalized difference index (NDVI) positively correlated annual mean precipitation, relative humidity temperature, indicating these factors might play important roles vegetation. Vegetation around area were reduced mining, while implementation diversity. Our results suggested mainly affected could mitigate impacts environment.
